The 90 minute walking tour takes you into the hospital units on the island that have until recently been closed to the public. Through the hard work of the Save Ellis Island Foundation, the hospital and grounds are being preserved and restored. The history of Ellis Island is fascinating and the huge part that the hospital and the staff played in that adds many layers to the story.
