Yosemite National Park’s Nevada Fall is Well Worth the Steps!

The mighty Merced River begins in  Yosemite National Park and cuts its way from the backcountry through Little Yosemite Valley and cascades over the cliff below the granite dome of Liberty Cap creating  Nevada Fall. This 594-foot waterfall is a Yosemite icon and a great hike. It’s often missed because when hiking from the Valley Floor you’ll get to experience the beautiful Vernal Fall and the Mist Trail first and most will make this their turn-around point. Don’t stop there, take the extra time to see the fall beyond the fall. The trailhead is at Happy Isles, Shuttle Stop 16. This is a popular hike most times of the year, so get an early start to beat the feet! You’ll be satisfied with the extra steps to the top of Nevada Fall, what a great place to wander.
