The California Condor, with it’s mighty 9 foot + wingspan is one of the rarest birds on the planet. An exhaustive campaign to keep this species alive and reintroduced back into the environment has been going on for decades. Grand Canyon National Park has become a successful location and is perfect for us to get a glimpse of these remarkable birds. South Rim viewing during the warmer months is perfect or for a more natural look get down into the canyon and watch for them. We were down at Plateau Point when we came across 3 of them gliding by us, close enough for us to get a great look at their markings. Plateau Point can be reached by the Bright Angel Trail
from the South Rim. It is not an easy hike, this one will take some preparation and the proper provisions but it’s a great place to wander and watch the condors soar! Get out and#FindYourPark
