Saguaro National Park is actually divided into two ‘Districts’ located on the East and West sides of Tucson, Arizona.

They are home to the largest cacti in the nation and they are a feast for the eyes. The arid landscape, colorful rocks and soil, along with the mighty Saguaro Cactus will enrich your drive through the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest.

Matt Emerson WBNL Saguaro National Park PetroglyphsAs you travel through the Districts keep your eyes peeled for Petroglyphs, most of which were created by the prehistoric Hohokum. The designs are both abstract and representational. I wonder what the artist was trying to tell us from these images?

The Cactus Forest Drive on the East side is a great journey that takes you out into the landscape. If you want to get out of the car there are hiking & biking trails and horseback riding as well. Don’t need to tell you to go prepared, you are most definitely out in the blazing desert!

SaguaroNPS is a great place to wander. Get out and #FindYourPark.
